The world of today & tomorrow
The business landscape is evolving fast and it will evolve faster and faster, the pandemic was just the surface of the iceberg. Indeed, adaptation is needed. Today, businesses are facing a whole new world of emerging challenges and opportunities. Where some are already suffocating in the chaos, while others are rising up ready to thrive. We are into a reskilling revolution as “The World Economic Forum” highlighted to adapt better.
As leaders, we know that constantly strengthening and updating our skills are crucial. In order to grow, we need to be adaptable. And in order to be adaptable we need to learn constantly. Learnability is the secret to getting ahead. To me it is more about the mindset for both employers trying to develop a workforce with the right skillsets, and for professionals seeking to advance their careers.
The economy is pivoting between humans, machines, and algorithms:
- It will probably displace 85 million jobs in the following next 3 years (from now to 2025) in the world.
- While 97 million new roles will be created.
- “The Future of Jobs Report 2020” highlighted the fact that machines and tasks at work by humans will be equal (50% each) by 2025.
What we called the “soft skills” became the “essential skills“. For 2025, according to the World Economic Forum the top 3 are: Analytical thinking and innovation, active learning and learning strategies, and Complex problem-solving. During the pandemic especially, most of the leaders who positively adapted to changes are those who use their Emotional Intelligence (E.Q.) to drive their Intellectual Intelligence (I.Q.) and encourage others to do so. The job I do with my clients is to focus on their authentic leadership to already be where others are not yet.,

“Education doesn’t need to be reformed — it needs to be transformed. The key to this transformation is not to standardize education, but to personalize it, to build achievement on discovering the individual talents of each child, to put students in an environment where they want to learn and where they can naturally discover their true passions.”
Ken Robinson
